Duties Description • Performs routine and unskilled work such as carrying supplies and equipment, erecting ladders and scaffolding, cleaning, and repairing drains, removing materials from the work site.
• Preparing surfaces and spreading paint, loading, and unloading trucks, performing rough carpentry and masonry work, and cleaning the work site after repair work is completed.
• Performs a variety of routine building maintenance tasks such as unclogging toilets and sinks. May assist the Trades Generalist with replacing toilet and faucet fixtures.
• Perform other maintenance tasks such as collecting and disposing of trash, planting or weeding, and snow removal by shovel or powered snow removal equipment.
• Replace light bulbs; wash and dust fixtures, furnishings, floors, corridors, stairs, stairwells, and partitions using appropriate supplies and equipment; including ladders and scaffolding.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Operational Needs:
• Ability to lift 50 lbs.
• Ability to work at heights using ladders, scaffolding, platforms and boom lifts.
• Ability to operate small equipment including lawnmowers, snow blowers, weed eaters, floor buffers, vacuums, etc.

Minimum Qualifications There are no education or experience qualifications for this class. Applicants must be physically able to perform the tasks of the position and be able to understand and carry out written or oral instructions.

When required to operate motor vehicles, incumbents must possess a valid New York State driver's license appropriate for the type of vehicle being operated.
